Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Hawk Helpers during Lunch
It's fun in Middle School - Come join us!
Help keep our lunches safe and enjoyable by signing up for one or more volunteer shifts. We also need leads in the Hawk Exchange (student store). All volunteers MUST complete the TTSD application and background check before joining us. If you are unsure of your status, please reach out to Sarah in the main office. Maker Mondays
Please join us on the first Monday of every month for Maker Mondays in the HMS Library's Maker Space! Students who sign up for this activity can stop by during their lunch time to make one or more projects that they can take home. We provide all the materials and instructions to get them settled in for a fun craft session, and we do a different project every month.
This event is organized by the HMS Librarian, Ms. Co, who is on hand at the library desk ready to help but who is often pulled away for library duties, since the library remains open during this time. We need volunteers to provide extra hands passing out scissors, working a glue gun, helping kids determine how to design their project, etc. You are welcome to sign up for all three lunch periods or just one or two (6th grade lunch tends to be the busiest).
Fun Friday Games
Every Friday during lunches, the PSO hosts Fun Friday Games in the Maker Space of the library for the students to enjoy! We need volunteers to help students pick out a game and with the rules if needed (rules are included in the boxes). We also have two Left Center Right tables that can always use volunteers to hand out prizes to the winners.
You are welcome to sign up for all three lunch periods or just one or two (6th grade lunch is usually the busiest). The event currently has 1 or 2 dedicated volunteers, so all you need to do is have fun helping the kids with their games! We hope you join us!
