  • June 11 Celebration

We’re celebrating our 8th graders with a fun-filled day at Langer’s Entertainment Center in Sherwood! Students will enjoy arcade games, bowling, pizza, and more. It’s a chance to relax, celebrate friendships, and make lasting memories before high school.

Here is a timeline for the day:

9:30a Students check in at 1st Period for Attendance

    9:30-10:30a Morning Celebration

    10:30a Bus to Langer's

    11a-2p Langer's Fun

2p Return to HMS for Dessert

Want to volunteer? Whether you're helping with food donations, supervising activities, or assisting with the morning & afternoon celebrations, your time and energy will help make this a safe, smooth, and memorable day for our students. Please note: you MUST be approved through TTSD to volunteer with students.

  • Photo Slideshow

A parent volunteer is creating a special video slideshow for the 8th Grade Celebration, and we’d love to include a meaningful message and photo from YOU!

To participate, please email a photo and a short message to Tamiko Murman at 8thgrade.celebration@hmspso.com by Sunday, June 1. The slideshow will be shown on the morning of June 11 before students depart for Langer’s.

Here’s what we need BY SUNDAY, JUNE 1:

    1. A favorite photo of your child – this can be a baby photo (fully clothed) or any special photo you love. Photo must be in .jpg or .jpeg format.

    2. A message (up to 3 sentences) – we’ll use it exactly as written (no edits), so make it special! All languages are welcomed.

  • June 12 Last Day of Middle School

    A Message from Principal Harvey:

The last day of school is now June 12th, and is a half-day. Students will arrive for a day of honor and celebration, will receive yearbooks, and will have an opportunity to connect with peers and staff for signatures and goodbyes. As a reminder, students should not bring any bags or school supplies with them, and lunch will not be provided.

Based on feedback from 8th grade families and staff last year, the Hazelbrook staff team is planning a student-focused awards ceremony on the last day of school. Due to limitations with parking, physical space, and time, this year’s event will be a students-only celebration held during the last day of school. We understand how meaningful it is for families to celebrate these milestones, and recognize there could be disappointment that there is not an option for families to attend the ceremony. Even with the limitations, they are working on creative ways to include parents both this year and moving forwards.

To celebrate our students, every 8th grader will receive a Certificate of Completion, and we will provide a ceremonial photo booth (balloon arch, backdrop, etc.) outside, which will be available Thursday afternoon and all day Friday for families who are interested in taking celebratory photos. Families are invited to come take pictures with their students during those times.

  • Please Donate!

Help us fund the 8th Grade Celebration!

While we are working hard to make this a fantastic FREE event for all 285 eighth graders, we are asking for donations to help offset the costs. The estimated cost per student is $30, and we would greatly appreciate if you would consider donating $30 or more to help cover expenses such as food, activities, and venue costs. If you would like to donate (any amount helps!), please click the button below, or send a check payable to HMS PSO with “8th Grade Celebration” in the memo line.

Every donation helps create a meaningful and memorable sendoff for our students. Contribute here:
