HMS Cares: A Day of Service

On May 20 2025, Hazelbrook Middle School launched its first-ever HMS Cares: A Day of Service, and the results were nothing short of incredible. While our fundraising goal was $20,000, we raised a powerful $11,400 — netting $9,600 after expenses — all while staying true to our mission: Give Back. Stay Safe. Have Fun. Over 700 students took part in 40+ service projects, from sandwich-making for the unhoused to environmental restoration with city partners.

This year, on May 21, Hazelbrook students will do it again!

In the weeks leading up to their day of service, students will be asking for donations and will pay it forward by completing acts of kindness for others. Our hope is that donors are motivated to give knowing that students will be showing kindness to others in their honor. This fundraiser is different because students will be spending time serving, not selling, and will be promoting gratitude and kindness within our school community.
